Advanced Instructions
Overview
Typically, when you run the Linked Senior installer it requires each user to register the app. If you have a large enterprise of users this can be difficult as each user will need to install on every machine they login to. Luckily there is a way to configure the app so it only needs to be registered once for each device you use.
At a high level we install a small json file in the AppData/Roaming directory of each user. This file should point to a single location where our app will be able to read/write the certificate we use for authentication.
Instructions
<username>
\AppData\Roaming\LinkedSenior\config.json.Overview
By default, the MSI Installer on windows will configure Linked Senior to be in fullscreen mode. If you want the ability to close the application window you can configure the application to not be in fullscreen mode at startup.
Instructions
<username>
\AppData\Roaming\LinkedSenior\config.json. The contents of this file should be:
If you would like the app to run in fullscreen mode you can change your desktop shortcut to run the application window as Maximized
Note if there is already a config.json file you can just add the setting above to the file.
Overview
There is no easy way to setup Linked Senior in kiosk mode using the MSI installer. Microsoft recommends you change some registry settings to do this.
Instructions
We do the following when configuring the registry for kiosk mode.
This will check for an update and then start the Linked Senior app.
Now you can logout and you should be automatically logged in (thanks to the registry settings) and Linked Senior should start (thanks to the startup.bat).
